Exploring the city center of Wambrechies

  • Visite - Balade

It is only 7 km north of Lille on the banks of the Deûle that nestles the 'City of Geneva'. Although the texts that evoke Wambrechies date from the 10th century, the parish is much earlier than this date. The village experienced significant growth when Jeanne de Constantinople, Countess of Flanders, channeled the Basse Deûle from Lille to Deûlémont. The appearance of textile and agri-food industries as well as the seigniory of Wambrechies mark its history and contribute to its fame.
Meeting point in front of Saint-Vaast Church, Place du Général de Gaulle in Wambrechies.
Saturdays 9 May, 4 July and 17 October from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
€8 / €7 / free for children under 6.
