Is it a choreography or a concert? A bit of both... and so much more than that. In this hybrid show, the choreographers and performers Jonas&Lander celebrate fado batido, the physical incarnation of fado, this melancholic music born in the popular districts of Lisbon. Fallen into oblivion, this piece of the Portuguese heritage, all in percussion and tap dancing, energy and sensuality, was banned at the dawn of the 20th century by the Catholic Church then by the dictatorship of the Estado Novo. Here it is reactivated during a dance concert where the "guitarras" respond to the clacking of hands, heels and to the powerful voice of Jonas. A vibrant ode to letting go and the revolt of bodies.
