Martial Delebarre (President of the association Fromelles Weppes Terre de Mémoire) presents a conference on trench artillery and more particularly on the program of mine launchers (Minernwerfer). Indeed, from 1907 and in the greatest secrecy, the Germans work on a program of development of mine-throwers (Minenwerfer) of several calibres with well defined objectives. During the Great War, on the site of the Delangre farm in Fromelles, the Germans installed a heavy 25 cm Minenwerfer in a special shelter that would be used according to the directives of the high command for position warfare. A shooting accident occurs there, killing two of the pioneers serving the mortar in September 1916.
