This meeting gives the floor to journalist and author Chloé Thibaud around her book No muses, no groupies. Through about twenty interviews with major artists of the music scene – Pomme, Santa, Yseult, Lio, Sheila, Angélique Kidjo, Yelle and many others – she explores the way these musicians, Singers and authors are rethinking their practices in an environment that is still largely dominated by patriarchal and sexist logics.
How to free oneself from assigned roles? How to create, produce and exist differently in the music industry? Through their words as well as their practices, these artists transform music into a space of claim, emancipation and reinvention. This meeting proposes to open a space for dialogue around these trajectories, the resistances to the work and the imaginaries they contribute to build.
