«It was better before! Even if it was worse!». Refrain that these two old ladies could repeat to us all the time! In a world without sugar or gluten, governed by an invisible but omnipresent sanitary brigade, they complain, do not tolerate each other, hate each other with malice... and end up, sitting on their chair, having 'the nostalgia of cockroaches'.
The author, Pierre Notte, goes to the heart of things with acuity and greenness, humor and sensitivity. Never before in the theatre, we have approached with so much freedom the relationship of a society with its aging. Everything is there, the physical shipwrecks of old age, illness, nostalgia, the tsunami of emotions, the breakdown of social or family ties.
But he reminds us that it is never too late: "Life always finds a way out."
