The secret life of the soil

  • Conférence - Rencontre
  • Développement durable

Soils are one of the largest reservoirs of biodiversity on the planet, hosting more than 25% of animal and plant species. Beneath our feet a discreet world is active, often invisible to the naked eye: bacteria and microscopic fungi, arthropods, earthworms... By interacting continuously, these organisms profoundly alter the characteristics of their environment. It is this intense biological activity that ensures the proper functioning of the soil, the fertility of the land, the quality of our food, as well as the purity of air and water.
