A maquis somewhere between Ouagadougou and Abidjan. Roadside gargotes serve as the backdrop to this afro-electro concert that crosses fifty years of West African music. Amadou Diao, a Burkinabé griot from the Diabaté lineage, plays the kora and the n'goni he built himself. Evelyne Mambo, singer and choreographer from Abidjan, gives body to each piece. Gurvan Loudoux, a percussionist from Brittany who is inspired by the music of West Africa, weaves all this with electro textures. From village ceremonies to the afrodisco trance, through the Congolese rumba and the coupé-décalé, the audience, standing, is invited to sing, dance, and for an evening, also take the maquis!
