Between China and Europe, circulations have favored exchanges for centuries, which has had an impact on artistic creation. However, this story has gone through phases, with misunderstanding and criticism prevailing at its beginning, due to the difference in models and aesthetic principles of reference before the respective shaking of the latter led to an opening of the gaze and a consideration of exogenous contributions giving rise to new artistic creations in the contemporary era. By bringing together significant examples, this conference will propose to shed light on the issues of this crossed history of encounters and artistic interactions between China and Europe, making those far away closer.
