Saturday Bat

  • Grand évènement

Learn more about these small winged-handed mammals. Theatre of shadows, readings on the world of night and night out to meet the bats, fragile little bats.
Symbol of fear and disgust for some, the bat does not always have a very good reputation. Yet it is an excellent natural insecticide. Did you know that in one night, a bat can consume almost half of its weight in various insects such as mosquitoes, moths and other species that can harm humans and their crops? All this without poisoning the air, soil and water for several years, as chemical insecticides do.
Take advantage of this «Saturday Bat» to enter the intimacy of this little animal often disliked.
On the agenda:
Shadow theatre by Océane Azeau
Since the dawn of time, bats have given rise to many legends, stories and preconceptions. Get inspired by these nocturnal animals to create cut-out paper puppets, characters of shadow theaters built from cardboard boxes! The opportunity to tell new stories where bats are heroines, fabulous stories!
From 2 pm, continuously
High voice readings by Read and make-read
Sit back, relax and open your eyes... and ears! The association Lire et faire-lire invites you to immerse yourself in beautiful stories from the world of night, meeting beings that we call strange. After listening to these stories, let’s ask ourselves if this night world is as terrifying as we think it is...
30-minute readings at 2:30, 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30
Night out by the nature animators
As part of this international operation, the animators of the Nature Relay invite you for a presentation of the various regional species, their biology, their way of life. Then venture on the trails of La Gîte to meet this animal now threatened. The opportunity to discover the protective actions put in place to preserve this nocturnal mammal.
