The Gambetta school was founded in 1913 in a former mansion on Grande Rue, then an annex of the Turgot high school in Tourcoing. A few years later, between 1923 and 1927, a new building, designed by the architect Albert Bührer, was built on Boulevard Gambetta. Back to back, the two buildings are connected by an inner courtyard. Today kindergarten and primary school, the site retains traces of its history and its original architecture
