Visits and meetings at the Manufacture

  • Visite - Balade

Housed in a former weaving factory founded in 1913 by Israël Craye, La Manufacture is now a museum dedicated to the textile history of the city. Since 2014, it has been highlighting the technical innovations of weaving, from the Middle Ages to the present day, through an important collection of looms in operation. Open to contemporary creation, it also welcomes artists who reinvent the link between heritage and creation.
For this edition, the Manufacture invites you to an immersive and unique experience, Le chant des machines, with the simultaneous start-up of the machines and the meeting of memory passers.

  • Guided tour with demonstration on Saturday from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm (last departure), departure every 30 minutes
  • Self-guided tour of the temporary exhibition Roubaix, Génie Textile
  • Meeting Le chant des machines on Sunday at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Guided tours and meetings are carried out without reservation, within the limits of available places on site
  • Screening of the film Les passeurs de mémoire by Yves Decroix, on Saturday at 5 p.m. followed by a discussion session at 6 p.m.
